The MDTSEA board meets quarterly in Lansing to discuss issues that impact driver’s education. Generally a representative from MDOS is present along with 12 other board members that represent various Michigan regions are in attendance.
At the board meetings various business reports are discussed as well as preparation for the annual conference that the board hosts. The textbook committee reviews the Driver’s Ed textbook for revisions while the professional development committee creates/approves PD offerings for driver’s ed instructors. Additionally new bills, legislative issues and driving concerns are discussed, collaborated with state officials and acted upon to insure the SAFEST laws possible for our area youth.
906 Drive owner, Lisa Valentine, was just elected to be on the board to represent Region 1–the entire region of the upper peninsula!
